At Thrifting With A Purpose, our inventory is made up of generous donations from our community. We are happy to accept gently used clothing, furniture, and household items, all of which are carefully inspected and thoughtfully priced before being added to the sales floor. Each item helps to support our mission and gives customers the chance to find something unique and meaningful.

Our thrift store is an extension of Mission Ministries Alliance’s purpose, which is to serve those experiencing homelessness and poverty in McDowell County. Every item sold directly supports our mission. With the addition of our new location, we’re expanding our impact by:

- Providing affordable clothing and household goods to the community

- Providing vouchers for individuals experiencing homelessness or moving into permanent housing

- Offering workforce training and meaningful volunteer opportunities

- Generating essential revenue to fund our shelters and outreach programs

Thrifting With A Purpose is powered by dedicated teams of volunteers, some of whom include our own clients, who work closely with our store manager, Ms. Helen. Their combined time, energy, and passion are essential to the daily operations of our store and furthering our mission.
